OMG!!! A really fun movie has been turned into one of the worst musicals I've ever seen on a Broadway stage (or anywhere for that matter). The entire production is over-staged (with constantly moving scenery, etc) in a desperate attempt to cover the weak score and book. Of a big-name cast that includes Patti LuPone, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Sherie Rene Scott, and Danny Burstein, only Laura Benanti is able to elevate the material into a somewhat enjoyable performance. Otherwise, this is just bad, bad, bad!
That's exactly what they did, which killed "High Fidelity" on Broadway!
