December 2010 - Abstract Expressionist New York, MOMA

Bravo to MOMA's marketing department for creating buzz and packing the museum to see their permanent collection of mid-20th century American art by packaging it as a temporary exhibit. They didn't even have to move the works from their regular rooms, just add signage to point out where they are. It's a little misleading since much of what is included is neither abstract nor expressionist. Still, it's hard to deny that MOMA's holdings from this period of the New York art scene are among if not the best in the world.
